How to Sell Passes Easily
If you’re a high school Coach or Athletic Director, you already understand the importance of fundraising. Without fundraising, you’d have to pass on some pretty steep costs to the athletes, which would put a heavy burden on them and their families.
One of the easiest ways to raise money for the team is by selling sports passes to your home games.
There are quite a few benefits to selling these passes.
For one, it’s a pre-season fundraiser. Instead of slowly collecting funds for game admission over the course of the season, you can raise those funds ahead of time. This gives you a jump on your funding and allows you to make any purchases like new jerseys or equipment before the season even starts.
In addition to that, you make the money off the pass whether the purchaser attends all of the games, some of them or even none at all.
Secondly, the passes make gate admission more efficient any easier.
Instead of taking cash, counting change and holding volunteers accountable for managing the cash, the attendee can simply show their pass and gain access to the event immediately without holding up the line.
These athletic passes come in various forms as well. We have passes for students, families, adults and even multi-sport passes. Some of the passes – like the family or all sports pass – sell for more money because of the added benefit of additional people or additional sporting events.
This means you can sell these passes for a higher price and increase your pre-season profit margin even more.
What’s the quickest and easiest way to sell them?
There are a lot of different ways to sell your sports passes. Best of all, none of those ways require your student athletes to stand at the grocery store exit to solicit strangers for donations.
Student passes are the low hanging fruit. You know exactly where to find each student for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. Right at school!
Utilize the morning announcements, the front office, in-school signage or other internal communications to sell your student passes during the school day.
You can also send information home with each student to share with their parents, which can help sell not just the student passes but the family and all sports passes as well.
Beyond that, you should leverage the school website, school email list and school social media accounts to broadcast information about the fundraiser.
But it doesn’t just have to be the school’s accounts. Utilize your own social media accounts to reach out to your friends and family. Join local Facebook groups if you already haven’t and post your fundraiser there as well.
